The world has turned upside down. We are living in a reality known mostly from books (among many: Life and Fate) and movies.
It is like: “Yes, it is a full-scale war, but we are living in the XXI century, so..”. We can find a lot of excuses why it should not have happened. The problem being – it does improve existing situation.
What if we change a single word? “But” seems to be a good candidate. Let us try: “Yes, it is a full-scale war, and.. we are living in the XXI century, so we can: register a place to stay on a proper site, offer transportation, ask or provide support, fact-check news before sharing, reach people abroad.” Possibilities are almost infinite.
This “yes, and..” approach, with the full acknowledgement of things we cannot control and recognition of what we can do is one of the basic rules of improvisation. Improvisation is essential in arts, in business, and in the private life as well.
